Meet Phil of Pa-Hin Lodge, a dedicated Arrowman who brings energy, leadership, and a love for connection to everything he does. Whether he’s working at Camp Wilderness during the summer or spending time traveling and enjoying music, Phillip values the relationships and experiences that scouting has brought into his life.
Phillip currently serves as Chapter 5 Chapter Chief and previously held the role of Lodge Treasurer, demonstrating his strong commitment to leadership within the Order of the Arrow. “My favorite part about the OA is the fellowship and just the overall vibe you get while hanging out with fellow Arrowmen,” he shares. That sense of community is what has kept him involved since he was elected in 2018.
One of Phillip’s favorite scouting memories comes from his first year on camp staff at Camp
Wilderness. “Meeting all of the people I know now and just having fun at camp” stands out as a
defining experience. His continued involvement in the OA is rooted in a belief in its mission: “It’s
a great program within scouting that builds confidence and helps develop the next leaders.”
While Phil hasn’t yet attended programs like NLS or OA High Adventure, he remains open to
future opportunities. He appreciates the traditions and culture of the OA, including collecting
unique patches—his favorite being a bright orange limited-edition patch from his former lodge in
St. Louis. Like many scouts, he enjoys the humor and creativity found in campfire programs and
skits, naming “Meatloaf!” as one of his favorites.
Phil takes great pride in earning his Vigil Honor, one of his most meaningful accomplishments in
scouting. He also fondly remembers the 2023 campfire program at Camp Wilderness as one of
the best he’s seen. For him, being a member of his lodge represents a continued investment in
scouting and in building lasting relationships.
Looking ahead, Phill hopes to remain active in the OA, continuing to serve as Chapter Chief
until the next election cycle and eventually stepping into an advisor role when he turns 21.
Beyond scouting, he dreams of becoming an EMT and hopes to travel internationally to places
like Ireland, Canada, and Australia.
Inspired by the people he meets through scouting, Phil carries a simple but powerful mindset,
reflected in his favorite quote: “Do it or don’t. It’s amazing how many things in life are that easy.”
With his leadership, dedication, and passion for fellowship, Phil exemplifies the spirit of the
Order of the Arrow and the lasting impact it has on those who choose to serve.
