The Tetonwana Lodge Winter Banquet was a successful and
memorable event that brought together members for training,
fellowship, and celebration. We began the event with elections
training, which helped ensure that everyone understood the process
and expectations for the upcoming election season. After the training,
we transitioned into a fun and engaging Jeopardy-style game focused
on Order of the Arrow history. This activity not only tested our
knowledge but also made learning about the OA enjoyable and
interactive.
We were also honored to host guests Reid Christoferson and Nick
Spencer Berger from Washington, who provided a detailed and
insightful history lesson on Scouting in the state of South Dakota.
Their presentation highlighted the roots of Scouting in our state and
helped members better understand the legacy we are a part of.
Following the history lesson, we made our way to the bowling alley,
where everyone had an amazing time bonding and enjoying fellowship
outside of a formal setting.
Once the banquet began, we heard from an outstanding keynote
speaker who shared his personal experiences in the Order of the
Arrow and spoke about the importance of the turtle as a symbol within
the OA. His message was meaningful and helped remind members of
the values and traditions that guide our organization. During the
banquet, we also recognized our Vigil Honor youth and presented the
Founder’s Award, honoring those who have given exceptional service
to the lodge.
To conclude the evening, we presented the State of the Lodge,
reflecting on our accomplishments and looking ahead to the future.
The event ended with the auction of the walking stick, which served as
a fun and exciting way to close out the night. Overall, the Winter
Banquet was a great success and strengthened fellowship,
knowledge, and pride within Tetonwana Lodge.
