Wahpekute Kiwanis Lights Show

Between November 27–31, Wahpekute Lodge had the privilege of coming together to serve the
Mankato community by helping bring an incredible holiday light show to life. This festive event
was made possible through a partnership with the Mankato Area Foundation and CHS, who
invited the lodge to be part of a project that spreads joy throughout the community during the
holiday season.

Over the course of several days, lodge members worked side by side, enjoying strong
attendance and meaningful fellowship. From the moment volunteers arrived, there was a shared
sense of excitement and purpose. Everyone played a role, whether assisting with setup,
supporting event operations, or helping ensure the experience was enjoyable for visitors. The
teamwork and positive attitudes on display truly reflected the spirit of service that Wahpekute
Lodge strives to uphold.

Many participants spent their nights near Sibley Park, which added an extra layer of connection
to the experience. Evenings were filled with conversations, shared moments, and laughter after
long days of work. These moments of fellowship gave members a chance to strengthen
friendships, meet new faces, and reflect on the impact of their efforts. Being together outside of
the work itself helped make the event feel less like an obligation and more like a shared
adventure.

The holiday light show was not only a gift to the Mankato community, but also a rewarding
experience for everyone involved. Seeing families and visitors enjoy the lights made all the hard
work worthwhile, and it served as a reminder of how powerful service can be when people come
together with a common goal. Wahpekute Lodge is grateful for the opportunity to partner with
the Mankato Area Foundation and CHS and looks forward to future opportunities to serve,
connect, and make a positive difference in our community.
